The original artist’s copy of this book was awarded Curator's Choice at the 2022 PSBA Members' Exhibition.
This book structure was inspired by Laura Russell’s Take Me, I’m Yours and Margery S. Hellmann’s James Joyce Wavewords: from Ulysses. This flag book reflects on two years of pandemic life, using self portraits of the artist captured with double exposure and slow exposure on instant film.
The text is letterpress-printed using Stymie metal type on French Speckletone paper. Stanzas of the poem are divided between two wavy shapes and accompanied by digital reproductions of the mini instant film photographs. The cover is reinforced with black chipboard. On the outside is a hand-drawn image of three, overlapping waves. On the inside panels are the title page and colophon. The book is held together with a black, button-hole elastic band and a white button.
